After a successful exhibition in Toronto, the UNFPA commissioned Somewherelse to recreate the experience for the UK debut.

Somewherelse partnered with Sara Elgamal for the launch of her UNFPA/UN supported campaign, “A Piece of Me’.
We (Somewherelse) hosted an immersive film exhibit in London, UK at Protein Studio which brought the project to life in an educational and immersive environment, paired with authentic community programming.
“A Piece of Me” is a UNFPA campaign, celebrating three Survivors of FGM (female Genital Mutilation) with the aim to spread awareness in an effort to end FGM worldwide. It was shot like a fashion film in the desert of the Afar region of Ethiopia with visually gripping and captivating images and colours, featuring Zahra, Abata, and Khadija. Sara Elgamal celebrates the strength and beauty of these women who refuse to be defined solely as victims of FGM but instead re-define their own version of passion.

We created an Immersive viewing experience for the exhibition, along with installations and educational content pulled from visuals, monologues, and materials seen in the films.
