The Ovoid Dining table is a 2 part 16' custom table designed for a client from Jean De Merry New York.The top is composed of old-growth Californian redwood and cast resin, with two blackened veneered pedestals. The Ovoid marks an evolution of the material and design languages of Stacklab’s Cut Burl Series.

Due to the extreme weight of the redwood and open resin sections, we had to experiment and thoughtfully design bases which could withstand the weight, while maintaining the organic asymmetric design. We created an internal rib structure, which was wrapped in 2 layers of wiggle board for rigidity, and then covered in oak veneer. I created all CAD assets for CNC production, and worked directly with the fabrication partner IDY Space.
